Dirt Candy is chef Amanda Cohen's pioneering vegetable-forward restaurant on Manhattan's Lower East Side, opened in the East Village in 2008 and relocated to 86 Allen Street in 2015. Cohen, a James Beard-nominated chef, was the first vegetarian chef to compete on Iron Chef America, and the restaurant has earned Michelin Guide recognition for five consecutive years plus a spot on the New York Times' 100 Best Restaurants in NYC. Its companion book, "Dirt Candy: A Cookbook," was the first graphic-novel cookbook published in North America.
